Grüner Veltliner
Strass im Strassertal
The idol of the Strasser sites! Here the slate-rich soils of the Zöbinger Gaisberg and the barren gneiss soils of the Wechselberg unite, along with deep loess parcels on the Offenberg. This is the best way to reflect the entire townscape: in our Grüner Veltliner Strass in the Strassertal.
It’s not possible to talk about Grüner Veltliner from the Kamptal without mentioning our local wine Strass in the Strassertal. The grapes for the local wine are harvested during the beginning of the picking season, in mid-September, in our premier sites of Gaisberg and Offenberg. These are all individually pressed and fermented in small fermentation tanks. Only after a few months on the lees are the wines blended into our local wine Strass in the Strassertal.
